ECO-Patterns

Energy efficiency analysis

eco-patterns FutureShip's ECO-Patterns service is the first step towards quickly and inexpensively improving a ship's operational fuel efficiency. This analysis of a ship's basic voyage data provides a picture of the overall energy efficiency situation of the vessel.

What the data tells: gain fuel usage insights through a four-fold analysis of voyage related variations in a ship's fuel consumption patterns - including comparison of a ship's efficiency against that of sister ships and against the market average. FutureShip improves awareness of issues specifically affecting a ship's overall operational energy efficiency. FutureShip's experts analyse a ship's basic voyage data to generate a four-fold evaluation of the fuel consumption patterns:
  • Identification of voyages with unexpectedly high or low fuel consumption through enhanced voyage analysis considering load, speed, fuel-to-distance and utilisation
  • Comparison of a ship's Energy Efficiency Operational Index with its respective Energy Efficiency Design Index (actual vs. potential efficiency) and against the market average for similar ships
  • Reverse sample analysis, identifying deviations in the following: fuel consumption from the yearly average; fuel usage on long legs with similar cargo loads; sailed distances for identical voyages
  • Comparison of a ship's Energy Efficiency Operational Index to those of sister vessels (with purchase of ECO-Patterns for sister vessels)
FutureShip points out how your ship is performing compared to its design potential. A specific ship is compared to sister vessels and to the market average for similar vessels under similar conditions. As a result gain awareness for factors that directly affect your ship's overall voyage related fuel efficiency.
